First days of teaching block prac
Now that I’ve been teaching for a couple of consecutive days, instead of the one day a week sessions I’ve been having until now, I am glad to say that even though I had a ‘poor’ start, I am steadily improving. As one of my mentor teachers said… I have to start somewhere… and anyway, he needs to be able to say I need to improve on something!
I’ve taught both Year 8 Maths, Year 10 Science, and also Year 8 Information Processing (basic word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc.), and each subject area and year level have different approaches, which is interesting to try out after observing them for so long. Tomorrow will be my second last day for my block prac, as on Thursday I will be doing professional development in Marybourgh, which should be interesting.
Tomorrows class should be interesting, as this will be the first science work I’ve done with this Year 8 class. I’ve been working with this class for the last few days on maths, and I’m now jumping over to science, and a lab session to boot! Should be fun!
